Is a core wound causing my anxiety?

We all have a core wound, when it is activated it can feel debilitating, and most people try to avoid acknowledging it at all costs. But when we do that it runs the show, and anxiety can become a bi-product of the unresolved acknowledgement of the emotions attached to the wound.

Confused? Think of it this way.
Your core wound is activated = a wave of different emotions are experienced, but very likely anger and sadness as the foundations arise, this often feels overwhelming or frightening, or inappropriate for the situation so we suppress this emotion, which gets stuck in our already dysregulated nervous system (which is dysregulated by the flooding of emotions), and THEN we unconsciously create or re-activate stories and beliefs that keep us 'safe' from the threat of experiencing this activation again. This ultimately doesn’t work because well, we’re humans, and we’re going to get triggered by the things we are avoiding. Why? Because on a deeper level we are on an energetic vibration that matches the emotions we are trying to avoid (this topic however, requires a seperate post).
The problem with high functioning anxiety is that you keep stuffing it down and ploughing through, only stopping when it completely debilitates you, which is highly dangerous for your mental, emotional and physical health.
What is going on inside needs to be felt, to be released. The mental inconsistencies or unhelpful mechanisms need to be rewired and we need to have new coping mechanisms to process and regulate our nervous system moving forward - and all of these can be worked on and achieved with hypnosis.
Addressing our core wound
When we begin to recognize and address our core wound, it can feel like stepping into darkness — the emotions feel raw and the way out unknown. But these uncomfortable feelings are a signal that something within us needs acknowledgment and healing. Instead of blocking these emotions or hiding from them, we can learn to sit with them, to listen and understand what they are trying to tell us. This process opens a doorway for real transformation, breaking the pattern of reactivity that keeps us stuck in cycles of anxiety, avoidance, and conflict.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool that helps us access the subconscious mind, where many of these unprocessed emotions and core beliefs are stored. During a hypnotherapy session I guide you into a relaxed, trance-like state, allowing you to explore the root of your anxieties and the stories created to shield yourself from pain. It is in this space, that we also begin to reframe these beliefs and release stored emotions, allowing you to break free from patterns of high-functioning anxiety. Hypnotherapy offers a gentle yet profound way to rewire your responses, cultivating healthier coping mechanisms, reducing anxiety, and feeling truly at ease within yourself.
